>>>>>The 5th December is His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej's birthday or วันเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว in Thai language. This public holiday is celebrated nationwide as Father's Day ("WAN PHO HENG CHAT" - วันพ่อแห่งชาติ). The King is considered as the father of all Thai people.Everybody will light the candle ang sing the king's song in the evening.I will take a photo and post in this blog

Loy Krathong's day in Thailand

“Loi Krathong” is traditionally performed on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month, which usually falls on some day in November. The floating of a ‘Krathong’ – a banana–leaf cup – is intended to float away ill fortune as well as to express apologies to Khongkha or Ganga, the River Goddess. Some believe that the ritual is meant to worship the Buddha’s footprint on the bank of the Narmada River, while others say that it is to pay respect to Phra Uppakhut, one of the Lord Buddha’s great disciples.

Last saterday is Loy Krathong's day. I made my Krathong and float in the river before my house

Bättre sent än aldrig....

Ok, so finally I put up some pictures from mine and Annas trip back to Thailand this summer. I know it was several months ago, but...ibland är det svårt att få fingarna ur. Så håll till godo.

The photos are from the soccer game Australia-Thailand, Asia Cup. It ended up with 3-0 to Australia, but everyone was happy anyway. And me and Anna was lucky to meet one of Thailands most famous supporters, (that was at least what they told us) My dear former counterpart work at Mr Donus, and I visited and harassed him for some minutes. And finally, the last picture is the one of the officiell pics we took even this time. Not Thailand without group pictures!
