Loy Krathong's day in Thailand

“Loi Krathong” is traditionally performed on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month, which usually falls on some day in November. The floating of a ‘Krathong’ – a banana–leaf cup – is intended to float away ill fortune as well as to express apologies to Khongkha or Ganga, the River Goddess. Some believe that the ritual is meant to worship the Buddha’s footprint on the bank of the Narmada River, while others say that it is to pay respect to Phra Uppakhut, one of the Lord Buddha’s great disciples.

Reunion at Kärsön 28 - 30/9

The swedish group had a reunion at Kärön at the end of september.

I think it was a lovely and wonderful weekend. It was great to see everyone again and it was so nice, because when we were the whole group ( almost, half of the group where of course missing :()the time turned back, and verything was the same. a lot of fun memories came up in our minds. Ok, so finally I put up some pictures from mine and Annas trip back to Thailand this summer. I know it was several months ago, but...ibland är det svårt att få fingarna ur. Så håll till godo.

The photos are from the soccer game Australia-Thailand, Asia Cup. It ended up with 3-0 to Australia, but everyone was happy anyway. And me and Anna was lucky to meet one of Thailands most famous supporters, (that was at least what they told us) My dear former counterpart work at Mr Donus, and I visited and harassed him for some minutes. And finally, the last picture is the one of the officiell pics we took even this time. Not Thailand without group pictures!

Sunshine from Oregon

Hey everybody!
Greetings to you from a sunny Oregon, USA! Here I am enjoying fresh, juicy peaches, hot days (34 grader idag) and adventures everyday! I admit I miss all my participants alot, how are you all doing? Great to see some of you posting on the blog. Hey, how about Johanna, Anna and Ohn´s recent business trip??? Hope you guys enjoy the pics of jao that I put up!

Here is a picture with my grandmother, 83 years old and still very energetic and healthy! My plan is to visit family and friends here until end of august, then I return to Sweden. For sure until the end of september, after that I am not sure yet.

I came to primary school that I used to teach Thai language before go to Sweden since yesterday.I gave dark chocolate to students and showed 656 pictures that took from Sweden to everybody.All of them said Sweden is very beautiful ,the children are very cute and want to go someday. It is very nice.

Hello my friends! I get so happy every time I see a post on the blog:-) You are the best and I miss you all!! Today I met Eva-Maria and the boys in Malmö for a fika, my mother was also with us, cause I wanted them to meet eachother. So we had a nice fika at the harbour (Äey, do you remember the place where we had a walk with my mother the last day at "homeweekend"?) It was very nice!! But there was something missing, a viking called Äey....:-)

Yesterday me and Marlene went for a fika. The weather was nice, we drank caffe latte, looked at all her pictures (about 150 photos)and chatted about all our memories. We are both very happy that we can meet and talk, 'cause we are the only one in this town that understand all the thai jokes and memorable things we have gone through these months...

Next Friday me and Anna go back to Thailand! Wooohoooo!

I just feel so happy when i read on the blog and emails from you, you really are the best. i'm so happy to have spent half a year with you, which also mae me miss you like hell..
i hope tammy, aey, bas, ohn, toss.. that you got my letter by now..(?)

i have also started to work, no thath many toursit and it's raining a lot, and this three days i have walked to work and home, which makes 10 km in total, it takes a while...

tomorrow i'm going to watch a friend playing theather.. jonas, the one some of you met in skara, you're friend ohn ;) thath will be fun, he and one of his friend have come up with some kind of one theather style..

Hej alla Jag alskar och saknar dig.
Now I have many activities to do about the project and my life also. I must find some university where I would like to study and the programme which interests me, and, I may add, some job as well. I miss the old life like when I was in the prgramme. It was fun and I didn't have to think so much about what I am gonna do in the future. I almost forgot! A radio station called me yesterday to interview me about the programme in Sweden and asked me about what did Swedish participant impress in Thailand and before me another radio station called and interview Am also
Now I miss everybody so much and also my hostfamily.
